Lies of religion

Source :http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/on-faith/post/religion-lies-about-women/2011/04/13/AFDS9mXD_blog.html

Purpose :  The source tells a little bit about the issue regarding to religion. The issues are mainly about the unfairness between en and women. The men were made and treated way more superior than women , by religious points of view. It said by the post that , religion goal was to bring out the truest right a person shall deserve, but after all, a woman would be treated like a slave .

Value : The source seem to be reliable in a way that it not just view the point of Christianity, but also other religions as well about their treatments of women, though the main focus is still Christianity. Therefore, we get a broader view about religion treatments of women

Limitation :
Doesn't quote from the Bible or any specific thing that religion said, though most information are based on true evidence, quote can be much more convincing.

Analysis : This article focuses on the church's attitude to the positions of man and woman. " the man's role is to be the head, while the woman's to submit to him" This shows that there is prejudices between man and woman. The author only relate the issue of gender equality to racism, such as white were seen as more superior or even to family, where a child had to obey their parents. " Women are classed with children and slaves when it comes to their social standing, freedom and self determination .." The article also relate the relationship between men and women be numerous example . For instance :" the commandment to women to submit to their husbands we find the commandment to children to obey their parents, and to slaves to obey their owners. No amount of instruction to the husbands, parents and owners in question not the ruthlessly exploit their position of power can alter the fact that women are classed with children and slaves when it comes to their social standing, freedom and self determination." This quote shows that, the article regards or compare the position of women in society as children who had to obey their parents, and sadder, as slaves who had to obey their owner, and in this context, their owners were men. The source conclude that religion were the source of trouble , that change the idea of humankind, and require women to always obey men.
